Acellus Art
My Acellus art class is not my favorite class, simply because I don't like the watch a video and then take a test format, But there are a lot of useful skills and project ideas that I have learned so far.
A technique that caught my interest was a watercolor paper printmaking method. You do this by first getting a piece of plexiglass. You're then going to hold it up to a silhouette and use a water-based to trace. You are then going to need watercolor paper soaked in water (for about an hour) and then you just press that against the glass. It's not a method where you can make multiple prints but it is good for getting a silhouette accurately drawn. I had never heard about that technique before so it was very interesting to me.
The 21st-century skills that I use are self-directional skills. I have to make sure that I work on Acellus somewhat consistently because of the deadlines.
I also learned about cross contour lines. cross contour lines are the lines that give a shape some depth. you do this by drawing lots of little lines in a curved fashion to give an object more of a 3D look.
The one on the left is just a quick sketch of an acetone bottle, using the cross contour line technique. The one on the left was done while watching some Acellus videos and was made with the techniques of cross contour lines and negative space. The materials were acrylic paint (background), and Papermate markers blended with my fingers.
