For this Project we were split into groups of four to five and we had to create a slideshow based on a podcast or video. ------------------------------------------------ My group chose the Mystery of the Headless romans Timewatch BBC video. This video was about how some people in rome found some skeletons. This discovery was particularly unique because of the fact that all of the skeletons where decapitated. The skeletons heads were also placed in the graves in a disrespectful manner. For the rest of the video they talked about what could have happened to them. They ran a lot of scientific test and got lots of expert opinions on the matter. If you want to know what the conclusion was you can watch the video here or read my presentation. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name of Assignment: Presenting a source - Mystery of the Headless Romans Subject: ELA Facilitator/Teacher: Ms. Terry Which 21st Century Skill do you feel this assignment addresses, and why? The 21st century skills I used were my interpersonal skills, information skills, self directional skills, and presentation skills. What are you most proud of from this assignment, and why? I am most proud of our decision to put pictures and lots of good info on our slides. I also think that we had a nice layout and a good presentation.
How did you develop and/or improve upon your 21st Century Skill with this assignment? I think that this project helped me analyze videos and retain information. The video was pretty long and would be easy to not pay attention to. I think I did a good job putting that information onto the slides even though I didn't make a TQE chart. This also helped with my self directional skills and my interpersonal skills since we did have to make time to come and work on the project together. We also had to talk together to figure out if we were all on the same page. What was most difficult about completing this task? I think the most difficult thing for me was finding out all the little details of the video to put on the slides. How could you improve this work? If you could start over, what would you do different? I think we could have been a bit more clear when we were presenting our project. We also could have made our information on our slides a bit more clear as it might have been hard for people that had not watched the video before to understand. How does this relate to what you have learned in the past? In the past we did a lot of work with google slides and watching videos and technology things. In the past I have also worked with alot of groups for group projects and in the past it was definitely a lot harder for me. How can you apply this to future learning? In the future i am definitely going to have to work with a lot of different people and i'm probably not going to like all of those people. I think it's great that the teachers are giving us the resources to get those skills we need for the future.
